Water" in London is something we use every day. Do you have any measures in place to protect the water you use at home?

It is July, and we are feeling the summer-like days as we cross the shadows of the grove of trees that block the dazzling sunlight. How is everyone doing?

As the temperature rises, we must be concerned about the burden on our bodies, and I am sure that many of you are taking care to drink water frequently. Water" in London is something we use every day. Do you have any measures in place to protect the water you use at home?

London's water is hard water

Water hardness is determined by the mass (mg/L) of calcium and magnesium dissolved in one litter of water, and the greater the amount, the harder the water. The higher the amount, the harder the water. London water is known for its hardness but living with hard water often causes calcium to form, leaving a white calcareous substance on kettles, dishes, and bathtubs, and some people have even heard that their hair and skin can become rough and their stomachs loose when they drink it. The most common countermeasure to this problem is to change from hard water to soft water by using a water filter or installing a shower head with a filter.

We often talk about the damage that Limescale can do to a property from the perspective of property management. A basic cleaning method for limescale deposits on faucets and showerheads is to use a commercially available limescale remover. Pour the limescale remover solution over the limescale deposits and the lime will dissolve, then gently scrub and rinse with water. If you are not comfortable using chemicals on the inside of an electric kettle, mix equal parts vinegar and water, put the mixture in the kettle, let it sit for two hours, and then wash the inside of the kettle to help remove the lime.

We want our homes, our most precious assets, to be in top condition. It is important to always clean it to maintain its brilliance. When our clients ask us about their water, we recommend the above measures and the installation of a water softener.

A water softener is designed to remove calcium and magnesium, the causes of hard water, from tap water and is a single unit that is connected to the water line (usually under the kitchen sink) and provides soft water throughout the home. The water softener can also be installed in rental units with the landlord's approval. Please contact Ken's Estate anytime to discuss the installation of this equipment or to discuss property management.
